Note:

On each of the four trips above, one official guide will accompany each group of four cars. White baggage tags for Tour O-54 and Green baggage tags for Tour O-55 must be attached to luggage before being handed to Room Stewards by 9pm on Sat. 31st March.

Shore Excursion S-27
One day drive to Nazareth, Tiberias and Galilee

Automobiles numbered 101 and up will leave the Quay at 8.45 am and will visit Mount Carmel, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee and the River Jordan during the day.

Luncheon will be served at the Italian Hospice on the Mount of Beatitudes. This party will return to the Quay in Haifa about 6.30pm.

Optional Tour O-54
Two Day Trip to Jerusalem and Galilee

Automobiles numbered 301 and up will leave the Quay at 9am. on Sunday and will visit Mount Carmel, Nazareth and Cana. Lunch at the Hotel Galei Kinnereth in Tiberias.

In the afternoon, drive via the River Jordan, the Sea of Galilee, Lydda and Ramleh, arriving in Jerusalem in time for dinner. Overnight accommodation at the King David Hotel.

Optional Tour O-55
Two Day Trip to Galilee and Jerusalem

Automobiles numbered 401 and up will leave the Quay at 9.30am on Sunday and will visit Nahalal, Afoula in the Jezreel Valley and Mount Tabor, before luncheon at the Hotel Galei Kinnereth in Tiberias.

In the afternoon visit Nazareth, Cana, the River Jordan and the Sea of Galilee. Overnight accommodation at the Hotel Galei Kinnereth, Tiberias.

Optional Tour O-53
One Day Drive through the coastal plain of Israel to Tel Aviv

Automobiles numbered 201 and up will leave the Quay at 9am., and will visit Meir Shefaya, the Children's Village of the Junior Haddassah, pass through the citrus belt to the Collective Settlement of Malaborot. After lunch at Ramat Gan, visit Tel Aviv, Herzlia and Nathanya. Return to the Quay in Haifa about 6.30pm.

Optional Tour O-54
Two Day Trip to Jerusalem and Galilee

Sightseeing on Monday morning in Jerusalem includes Mount Zion, King David's Tomb, Church of the Dormition and Place of the Last Supper. After luncheon in Jerusalem, continue via Tel Aviv and the towns on the coast road to Haifa, arriving at the Quay about 7.15pm.

Optional Tour O-55
Two Day Trip to Galilee and Jerusalem

In the morning proceed to Tel Aviv and along the Courage Road to Jerusalem, where luncheon will be served at the King David Hotel.

Sightseeing in Jerusalem includes the Church of Dormition and Place of the Last Supper, Mount Zion, and King David's Tomb. Proceed in the afternoon via Lydda and Ramleh to Haifa, arriving at the Quay about 7.30pm.

GOVERNMENT

of Israel is a Republic headed by a President who is elected by the Knesset (Israel's Elected Assembly). The Knesset comprises 120 members, elected by secret ballot and universal suffrage. Israel's first General Elections were held in January, 1949.

Twelve political parties are represented in the Knesset. The present Prime Minister is Mr. David Ben-Gurion, who heads a coalition of four parties.

RAMLEH

was the home of Joseph of Arimathea, who gave his tomb for Christ's interment after the Crucifixion. The Tomb of the Forty Martyrs was part of a great Arab Mosque built in 1318. The city was a centre of Crusaders’ activities, being the capital of Richard the Lion Hearted during the Third Crusade.

ARK OF THE COVENANT

On the supposed site of the resting place of the Ark is a church erected by the Sisters of St. joseph near the village called Abou Ghosh by the Arabs.

CANA

lies a few miles north of Nazareth on the way to Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. It was at Cana that Christ performed his first miracle, that of transforming the pitchers of water into wine at the marriage feast.

TIBERIAS

lies about 680 feet below sea level on the western shores of the Sea of Galilee. The miraculous Draught of Fishes took place nearby.

SEA OF GALILEE

is 14 miles long and 6 miles wide. Through it the Jordan River flows from the north and continues to the Dead Sea, where its waters are dissipated by the chemicals of that infamous body of water.

Departure

The CARONIA will sail from Haifa promptly at 11pm on Monday, 02 April for Piraeus, Athens. Please notify your Bedroom Steward of your final return on board.
