The Balmoral Rangers and the Sandringham Dynamos didn't have it all their own way in establishing a reputation for soccer skills. Not to be outdone, there was also a fearsome team made up from Cooks, Assistant Stewards and Glory-hole Stewards (the guys who looked after the crew accommodation) called “The Plonkies”.

A feature of their World Cruise trips would be a match played in Bombay against a local police team. Also involved in matches in Bombay was yet another team, representing the “Deckies”.

At Rio de Janeiro - But When?

The photograph below has been sent to me by Ave Quin, which I believe is another “Plonkies” team. The only available details from Ave being that this was a soccer match against a local team at Rio de Janeiro.
