These photographs have been sent in by Len Danson who was an AB on the Caronia from 1957 to 1962 and Bo'sun's Mate until 1966.

I'd be very happy to receive additional photographs and any information that will identify persons as yet unknown.

The Bent Ladder
This photo shows some of the damage caused by an overnight storm in the North Atlantic near the end of the 1963 Spring Mediterranean Cruise just before arriving at Lisbon. Len tells me that the crew swimming pool was smashed to pieces, amongst other damage on the fore-deck.

These two photographs bring into perspective the huge size of Caronia's funnel, the top of which was nearly 120 feet above sea level.
