Whilst every effort has been made to check this transcript, the process has highlighted a few errors in the original documents which have been corrected here. If any of the ratings are incorrectly described below, do please advise me of these.
Notes
- Total crew complement, including the Master, for the 31 May 1949 Voyage was 588 of which there were 386 in the Catering Department. Other than new sign-ons, the kitchen staff are no longer separately identified as in the Maiden Voyage Crew List
- For this voyage there was only a skeleton laundry staff employed
- On arrival at New York on 17 May 1949, just 1 crew member was signed-on
