Introduction
This page lists all of the jobs carried out by the crew of the “Green Goddess” on her 2nd voyage out of Southampton, ahead of a series of three cruises to the West Indies. Although this list is shown as a manifest, it is not intended that it give full details of each rating, like Age, Nationality, Service at Sea etc.

Accuracy
Whilst every effort has been made to check this transcript, the process has highlighted a few errors in the original documents which have been corrected here. If any of the ratings are incorrectly described below, do please advise me of these.
Notes
- Total crew complement, including the Master, for the 29 January 1949 Voyage was 626 of which there were 408 in the Catering Department. The kitchen staff are no longer separately identified as in the Maiden Voyage Crew List
- This was the first voyage where the laundry was in use, and 25 new laundry staff are listed
- On arrival at New York on 07 February 1949, 48 more crew were signed-on in preparation for Caronia's very first cruise
- On arrival from that 1st Cruise, the Caronia's complement numbered 674 (including Captains) and 12 crew were signed-off, replaced by 12 signing-on. These latter do not feature in this list!
