Valldemosa Mountain Drive
Afternoon tour by motor coach
This afternoon motor coach drive passes through some of the most beautiful scenery of Mallorca and includes the famous Carthusian Monastery of Valldemosa, chosen by Chopin and George Sand for their winter's stay in 1839.
Beginning about 1.30pm, motor into the rugged mountains, arriving at Valldemosa after an hour. Here the “cells” occupied by Chopin, together with some of the composer's possessions, will be shown.
In the courtyard of an adjoining palace a programme of Mallorcan folk dancing will be presented.
The drive returns to Palma through ancient olive groves and a lovely valley surrounded by picturesque countryside.
Return to the landing place after about four hours.

City Programme
Afternoon, by motor coach.
Palma, founded by the Romans in 128 B.C., is an ancient city noteworthy for its picturesque harbour and many old buildings.
It was once the seat of the Mallorcan Kings, and is now the capital of the Spanish province of Mallorca.
Palma has grown into one of the world's attractive vacation resorts for people from northern climes, and has villas and hotels to accommodate them in informal and colourful atmosphere.
It is a combination of medieval, Moorish, and modern Mediterranean styles of architecture.
This afternoon drive by motor coach in and about this attractive city will visit the principal attractions and monuments, including the great 13th Century Cathedral,the shopping and residential streets, and the castle of Bellver high on a hill overlooking the harbour.
The tour will return to the Hotel Victoria, in whose delightful gardens overlooking the sea there will be a special presentation of Mallorcan folk dancing.
Return to the landing place after about three hours.
