The Caronia II Timeline Web Site
Copyright © 2004-2008 Peter Stevens
All Rights Reserved
The Caronia II Timeline Web site (the Timeline) is provided for educational, research, or plain enjoyment purposes only. None of the content offered here should be regarded as being “public domain”. The Timeline has no connection whatsoever with the Cunard brand (its predecessors or antecedents). It is the result of countless hours of collecting and presenting various artefacts associated with the history of the erstwhile RMS Caronia (II).
The desire is to record as close to an accurate history of this very famous ship as possible. However, while every effort is made to ensure that the Timeline contents are correct at the time of publication, some information may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are welcome at all times to notify the webmaster of any known omissions or errors by eMail.
The Caronia II Timeline Web site is provided at the webmaster's own personal expense, with no direct, or indirect, association to any outside interests, commercial or otherwise.
Copyright of all email contributions that are published here remain with their attributed sender.
Copyright of all Award Graphics depicted here remains with their respective award programmes, and may not be used elsewhere under any circumstances.
Reproducing any information contained on the Timeline for any profit related purpose is expressly prohibited. Permission may be granted, on request, to reproduce information here for personal use only, or in promoting fully related maritime history activities, provided that these are neither for personal gain, nor for commercial profit.
Although a number of pictures on the Timeline have come from published sources, mostly in the Public Domain, you are not permitted to download, or link to, any images on the Timeline for use elsewhere without seeking written permission first. Permission may only be granted according to the terms set out in the previous paragraph.
Copyright usually expires on a published item 50 years after its first publication date, unless it is placed into the Public Domain in the meantime. Public Domain in this instance means that any or all commercial interest rights to the original materials have been relinquished by the originators.
In 1976, the Cunard Steamship Company placed its archive into the Public Domain by transferring it into the care of Liverpool University. Unfortunately, there is currently no public access to that Archive.
Crown copyright exists for 125 years from the end of the calendar year in which it is created. If the work is commercially published within 75 years of it being created, it is protected for 50 years from the end of the year that it was commercially published.
This Webmaster treats Copyright violation very seriously. I'm happy to freely share the information that I hold only on the terms clearly set out on this page.
The Caronia II Timeline Web site should be regarded just like a reference library resource. You are permitted, indeed encouraged, to delve as deeply as you wish whilst you visit on-line. However, just like a reference work, you are not permitted to take it away for off-line viewing.
In other words, without my express written permission, you are not permitted to digitally archive, copy or mirror this Web site, either in part or in its entirety. My written permission must also be obtained before any text here is translated into any language other than English. Be aware, any Copyright violation found will be pursued with vigour!
The Caronia II Timeline Web site is based in the UK and aimed at a global audience of any reading age. Every precaution has been taken to ensure the security of this Web site and all of its visitors. No personal information secured from any feedback form on this Web site will be used for any purpose other than as stated within my Privacy Policy below.
Because this webmaster strives at all times to protect the safety of children and young persons, there is a set minimum user age level (without parent/guardian consent and/or teacher supervision) of 14 years for any feedback forms.
Therefore, anyone under the age of 14 years must have absolute permission from a parent, legal guardian, or qualified teacher if accessing the site from a school classroom, before placing their name, email address or any other private information on any interactive forms within this Web site.
Contributors to, and members of, the Caronia Forum must be aged 16 years or over.

I uphold the right of anyone to not have their email address or other private information published here. I may, at my discretion, relay visitor emails up to this site (with email address excluded), unless you specifically tell me not to. I will normally advise you of my intention to publish an email as a matter of courtesy.
Otherwise, other than for directly contacting you personally, your email address and other private information you may provide, such as telephone numbers, are kept confidential and are not used by me for any other purpose.
The Caronia Timeline has been instrumental in reuniting several former friends and colleagues, however, no contact information is ever divulged by me to a third party unless full written authorisation is given. If anyone does not wish to be contacted, that decision will always be respected.

My sincere thanks are due to all the providers of information snippets and for all the free listings and the exchange links with this site. Please see the dedicated Acknowledgements Index.
External links from the Timeline have been carefully chosen and are checked quite regularly. However, because of the disruptive desires of some unscrupulous Web users, there is no method available to monitor their content on a continuous basis.
Therefore, all external links provided from the Timeline can only be made available at users' own risk! Advice of any changes to remote sites, particularly if the content is no longer relevant, is always welcomed.
Please Note:
This is a wholly independent Web site, entirely owned and maintained by Peter Stevens. While I'm happy to
promote preservation of British Maritime Heritage, the Caronia II Timeline is not affiliated with this movement.
