This page carries a further selection of photographs sent in to me of various artefacts purchased at the sale held at Pier 54, New York PST in 1974. As Rob Mason has described, this was held some time after the Caronia / Caribia had been towed away for breaking.
I'm indebted mainly to Rob Mason and Brad Newell for the photographs on these pages. It's possible that more photographs from other sources will appear here too.
The two chests of drawers and wooden waste-bin pictured below were among the several items that were purchased by Rob Mason at the Pier 54 sale in 1974. It's worth noting that on board ship all waste receptacles were called “rosies”!

More drawers, these uncannily similar to that purchased by Brad Newell and pictured on the previous page.

One really distinctive piece of furniture to survive is this art-deco style rotunda table. These were distributed in several of the Caronia's public rooms.

Among Rob Mason's treasured possessions is a selection of signs from the former Caronia.

If anyone has other pictures of artefacts rescued from the former Caribia / Caronia that you'd like to see featured here, I'd be delighted to hear from you!
